How do I know I need a new roof?

Any roof over 15 years old should be inspected.

Warning signs include:

·       Curling shingles

·       Evidence of leakage from ceilings

·       Decaying, missing, broken or damaged shingles

·       Bald spots (loss of asphalt granulation)

·       Wind damage

·       Missing or rusted flashing (weather-resistant metal strip)

If I see warning signs, how do I know if I need a repair or a new roof?

It depends on the condition of the shingles. Damaged shingles can be replaced if the damage hasn’t affected the integrity of the roof. It’s more economical to replace the whole roof when shingles are old and decaying.
